After that you can able to upgrade to 9.2 version.<\/p>\n<div class=\"dedicated_server_hosting_features\">\n<p><strong>Procedure To Enable Default Version of Postgresql via cPanel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.Login to WHM [ https:\/\/serverip:2087 ]<\/p>\n<p>2.Click on Home \u00bb Software \u00bb EasyApache 4<\/p>\n<p>3.Click on &#8220;customize&#8221; in the current profile<\/p>\n<p>4.Go to &#8220;PHP extension&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>5.Search for &#8220;php56-php-pgsql&#8221; \u00a0and enable.<\/p>\n<p>6.Click on &#8220;next &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>7.After that click on &#8220;provision&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Now you have enabled the default\u00a0Postgresql option in the WHM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedure To upgrade\u00a0Postgresql to 9.2 from default version installed via cPanel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b>Download the putty software from &#8220;http:\/\/www.putty.org\/&#8221; and install it in your system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> After installing it, Launch putty and enter the below details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Host name (or IP address) : Give the server IP<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Port : Give the port number<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Click on open<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> After that it asks to enter the username.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 login as:\u00a0<\/strong>Give as &#8220;<strong>root<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>then copy the root password and go to the putty, in password field if you click the right button of the mouse and press enter, the password will be placed and logged in to shell as root user.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> Then you can go to the tmp directory by using the command<\/p>\n<p>cd \/tmp<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Steps to Upgrade Postgresql 9.2 :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[ Have to put the following commands one by one ]<\/p>\n<p>wget http:\/\/yum.postgresql.org\/9.2\/redhat\/rhel-6-x86_64\/pgdg-centos92-9.2-6.noarch.rpm<br \/>\nrpm -i pgdg-centos92-9.2-6.noarch.rpm<br \/>\nyum groupinstall &#8220;PostgreSQL Database Server 9.2 PGDG&#8221; -y<br \/>\nyum install postgresql92-devel.x86_64 -y<br \/>\nservice postgresql-9.2 initdb<br \/>\nchkconfig postgresql-9.2 on<\/p>\n<p>cd \/usr\/pgsql-9.2\/bin\/; for f in *; do echo $f; [ -e \/usr\/bin\/$f ] &amp;&amp; mv \/usr\/bin\/$f \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\/usr\/bin\/$f.8; ln -s $(pwd)\/$f \/usr\/bin\/$f; done<\/p>\n<p>cd \/var\/lib\/pgsql; ln -s 9.2\/backups; ln -s 9.2\/data; ln -s 9.2\/pgstartup.log<\/p>\n<p>cd \/usr\/pgsql-9.2\/lib; ln -s libpq.so.5.5 libpq.so<\/p>\n<p>service postgresql-9.2 start<\/p>\n<p>[ Have to do this in the WHM ]<\/p>\n<p>-Log into cPanel\/WHM as root<br \/>\n-Navigate to &#8220;Home &gt; SQL Services &gt; Configure PostgreSQL&#8221;<br \/>\n-Click on &#8220;Install config&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>6\u00a0.<\/strong> Have to update\u00a0phppgadmin and add the below lines in SSH ,<\/p>\n<p>\/usr\/local\/cpanel\/bin\/updatephppgadmin &#8211;force<\/p>\n<p>vi \/etc\/yum.repos.d\/CentOS-Base.repo<\/p>\n<p>[ Add this line under [base] and [updates] ]<br \/>\nexclude=postgres*<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong> Now you can check using the below command ,<\/p>\n<p>psql &#8211;version<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Postgresql 9.2 upgrade is possible only with the root access of the server, it is not supported by cPanel.
