How do I restrict cPanel access from WHM ?
Linux Fully Managed Dedicated Server comes with full root access where you will be get a control to make any changes at anytime. You will also get a SSH access to manage via SSH. In this way you can restrict cPanel access from WHM. This will prevent WHM user to access cPanel without login details.
Via WHM :
1. Login to the WHM as a root
2. Go to “Tweak Settings” under Server Configuration
3. Choose System option
4. Click on “Accounts that can access a cPanel user account” :
i) Root, Account-Owner, and cPanel User
- Root- Without : Without cPanel login details root can access cPanel
- Account-Owner : Without cPanel login details Account-Owner (Reseller) can access cPanel
- cPanel User : Using cPanel login details only,cPanel user can access cPanel
ii) Account-Owner and cPanel User Only
- Account-Owner : Without cPanel login details Account-Owner (Reseller) can access cPanel
- cPanel User : Using cPanel login details only, cPanel user can access cPanel
iii) cPanel User Only
- cPanel User : Using cPanel login details only cPanel user can access cPanel
5. Now choose “cPanel User Only” option
6. Click on “Save” and it will show as “Your changes have been saved”.
The above option doesn’t allow WHM user to access cPanel without login details. In dedicated server you will get full root access where you can do more customization and increase security.
