​How can I Disable TraceRoute in Dedicated Server?

Linux Dedicated Server allows you to host mulitple websites under your web hosting space. Linux Dedicated Server comes with full root access where you will be having control to make any changes at any time. For eCommerce and CMS sites this would be the best and cheapest one.Dedicated Server have the option to enable or disable the trace route according to our requirement. Keeping this option in disable will help to reduce the server traffic from unwanted users.

To Disable TraceRoute in Dedicated Server, Follow the below procedure,

1. Login to the Dedicated Server WHM as root user.

2. Go to the path,

Home » Security Center » Traceroute Enable/Disable

3. In Traceroute Status, you can able to see the current status.

4. For Disabling TraceRoute ,

Click ” Disable ”

5. Wait in the same page until it is getting completed.

*Traceroute file permissions

The system uses the permissions of the /bin/traceroute file to determine whether traceroute is enabled or disabled:

755 indicates that traceroute is enabled.
700 indicates that traceroute is disabled.

Advanced users can change the permissions for the /bin/traceroute file manually; however, the interface may not indicate these changes.
