How to create schedule backup using Plesk?
In Windows reseller hosting Plesk control panel allows you to create scheduled backups in an easier way. You can also schedule backups to run at predefined intervals in the future. This is a great way to make sure that you have up-to-date data to restore from in the event of a problem.
Backups taken this way are stored on your server and contribute to your disk space usage. You can download backups to store locally or even send them automatically to your FTP.
You can create schedule backup using the below procedure,
[1] Login to Plesk Control Panel
[2] Click on Subscriptions
[3] Click on Subscriptions name
[4] Click on Tool & Settings
[5] Click on Schedule Backup under Tools & Resources
[6] Click on Schedule to begin
[7] Check the box next to Activate this backup task to switch on the backup schedule
[8] Set time When and how often to run the backup
[9] The option for Use incremental backup is selected by default because incremental backups provide the most efficient use of disk space.
[10] How long the backup files should be kept before being removed
[11] Under Backup Settings you have to choose which components of your site to backup. It includes Domain configuration, Mail configuration and content, and User files and Databases.
[12] Choose whether or not you wish to receive a notification email for any error that are generated during the backup process. You’ll need to specify the email address that this will be sent to.
[13] Choose whether you want to Suspend the domain until the backup is completed. This option will result in backups taking less time but will mean that the site is unavailable while the backup runs.
[14] Click on Ok. Your backups should now be scheduled.
If you want to take just a single backup, the process is almost identical. Instead of clicking Schedule, click on Backup instead.
