How to manage files/folders in Filezilla?

Procedure to connect Filezilla

1. Downlod and Install Filezilla FTP Client

2.Click on File >> Site Manager

3.Click on New Site option

4.Supply the following details

Host : ftp.yourdomain.com or server IP

port : 21

server type : FTPES – FTP over explicit TLS/ SSL

Note: If you are using latest version of Filezilla,

Protocol: FTP-File Transfer Protocol

Encryption: Require explicit FTP over TLS.

Logon Type : Normal

User : your ftp user name

password : your ftp password

1. Click on connect

[ If any prompt to accept the certificate appears, please accept it as the server used open ssl ]

Now you should be able to view the local system in left side and server in the right side

Steps to create a new folder

1.Right click anywhere in the remote server window. Then click Create directory.

2.Enter a name for the new folder as per your wish. Then click OK.

Steps to rename a folder

1. Right click the new folder name. Select Rename.
2. Then enter the new name of the folder.
3. Now the folder has been renamed

Steps to delete a folder

1. Inorder to delete the folder just right click the folder name, then choose delete.
2. Now the folder has been deleted.

Steps to change file permissions

1. Right click the file wp-load.php file name. Select File Permissions.
2. Now let’s change some of the permissions or attributes of this file.
3. When finished, click OK.
4. Permissions for the file have been successfully changed.
