How do I Edit DNS of a Domain Name under my Reseller Account in WHM ?

Linux Reseller Web Hosting have the option in WHM to edit the DNS of the Domain . Using this option you can change MX and A record and etc.

Reseller Hosting DNS Editing Procedure

Please follow the below steps to Edit DNS Zone of one domain under your Reseller Account:

1. Login in to your WHM by using user name and password.

2. Click the “Edit DNS Zone” in DNS Functions feature which is present in the left side of your WHM.

3. It will show you DNS zone records of name server, mail server,web server, ftp server, and corresponding IP address

4. If you want to change the server name and IP address modify it.

5. If you want add additional records also add in “Add New Entries Below this Line”.

6. Click the button “Save”.

How To Delete A DNS Zone in My Domain via WHM ?

Follow the below steps for Delete a DNS Zone in your Domain:

1. Login in to your WHM by using user name and password.

2. Click the “Delete a DNS Zone” in DNS Functions feature which is present in the left side of your WHM.

3. Select the domain which you want to delete the DNS zone.

4. Click the button “Delete”

How To Add a DNS Zone In My Domain via WHM ?

Follow the below steps to Add a DNS Zone in your Domain:

1. Login in to your WHM by using user name and password.
2. Click the “Add a DNS Zone” in DNS Functions feature which is present in the left side of your WHM.
3. Give the IP address and domain for that DNS zone.
4. Select the domain name which you want to add DNS zone.
5. Click “Add zone” button.

How To Point a A record for the Domain In WHM?

Follow the below procedure to set A record for your domain in WHM,

1. Login to your WHM
2. Under DNS Functions link, click on Edit DNS zone
3. Choose a zone (or) domain name to edit
4. Click on Edit button
5. Add the new A record below “Add New Entries Below this Line ”
6. Point the A record as below

Domain name >> IN >> A >> server IP
===

7. Click on Save button.

I am Getting ” 451 Temporary Local Problem ” In My Domain MX

Error:

451 Temporary local problem – please try later

Reason : 

If you have choosen the Email Routing selector as Remote Mail Exchanger  in your Domain MX record , then you will face this issue.

Solution: 

  1. Login to WHM
  2. Go to the Path  Home »  DNS Functions  » Edit DNS Zone
  3. Choose the corresponding Domain name and click “Edit”
  4. Scroll Down You can able to see ” Email Routing ” Option ,
  5. Below that choose “Local Mail Exchanger”,                                                                     Automatically Detect Configuration (recommended) more »
    Local Mail Exchanger more »
    Backup Mail Exchanger more »
    Remote Mail Exchanger more »
  6. Click Save.
