How to take Back up and Restore Mails in cPanel Webmail?

Silicon House Dedicated Servers are powered by free Unlimited cPanel and Unlimited WHM. Dedicated Servers comes with full root access where you will be get a control to make any changes at anytime. In this way you can able to do Back up and Restore Mails in cPanel Webmail.

In cPanel, you can able to use three webmail interfaces. If you are using cpanel mail service for your domain, it is possible to back up (export) your emails using both web interfaces – Roundcube or Horde. Built-in restore (import) option is available in both Roundcube and Horde webmail now.

Kindly refer the below procedure to back up and restore emails in cPanel webmail:

Via Roundcube Interface:

Export :
——

1. Login to the webmail of the domain
2. Select the mails which you want to take a backup
3. Click on “more” icon in the above bar
4. Select Download (.eml) option in dropdown list

Now the mail has been downloaded in your Local System.

NOTE: .eml files are supported by most of the email services, so you can easily restore them later on different servers

Unfortunately, Roundcube does not provide convenient functionality to download many emails at once, so if you want to back up the whole folder or account, we recommend using Horde instead.

2. Click Settings in the left side of the panel
3. Click on “Import messages” icon in the dropdown list
4. Browse the file which we want to import
5. Click upload

Once done, you will get a notification like “successfully imported”

Via Horde Interface:
