How do i create new rule in windows firewall in Windows Dedicated Server ?

Silicon House provides Windows Dedicated Server comes with Windows Firewall. If the firewall is disabled in the server then all the ports in the server will be opened to all the users. It will leads to the brute force attack in the server. Any one can access the server from any ip address. So the firewall in the server should not be disabled.


The below mentioned procedure allows you to create the new firewall rule in your Windows Dedicated Server.

1.Login into your windows server using RDP
2.Start –> Click on Administrative Tools
3.Click on Windows firewall with Advanced Security
4.Click on inbound rules
5.Click on new rule
6.Click on port
7.Click on next. In the specific ports enter the port number you want to allow
8.Click on Allow the connection. Note: Make sure that you are not selected the option Block the connection.
9.Click on next and enter the rule name
10.Click on Finish

You can also create firewall rules for white listing and black listing particular IP’s.
