How do I correct Nameserver Configuration for the domain in WHM ?
Linux Web Host Manager has a option to manage your domain’s DNS. Using that you can set new records ( zones ) for your domains under your reseller account and edit or change the existing DNS for the same. If any new zones like TXT , A record for sub domain, CNAME, MX records and SPF records you can easily add from your WHM. If any mismatch or misspelling was there in nameservers for your domain in WHM the domain will not work and its nameservers will not be reflected properly in all ISPs. Which may create errors in your sites, hence you have to correct the nameserver mismatch to make it work properly.
You can follow the below procedure to correct the NameServer mismatch from your end.
1. Login to WHM
2.Choose Edit DNS Zone option under DNS Functions
3.Choose the domain which you want to correct the DNS [ ex.yourdomain.com ]
4.Compare the nameserver which you have pointed here with your domain control panel DNS
Once you corrected the DNS you can check the reflection in DNS check url’s and confirm whether its reflected properly or not. Some cases after corrected the DNS also ISP will not reflect your Zones properly. In this case you have to configure your server IP address with your NS1 and NS2. T configure IP’s you can follow below procedure.
1.Login to WHM
2.Choose Edit DNS Zone option under DNS Functions
3.Choose the domain which you want to correct the DNS [ ex.yourdomain.com ]
4.Click on Edit button
5.Add the new records under “Add New Entries Below this Line”
6.Point the IP address belongs to your nameservers – (Select NS from drop down menu) Enter the IP4 address belongs to your nameservers
7.Click on Save button
