How to enable Leech Protection in cPanel reseller Hosting?

Silicon House servers are powered by free cPanel and WHM. In linux reseller hosting panel , Leech protection in cPanel allows you to prevent your users from giving out or publicly posting their passwords to a restricted area of your site. This feature will redirect accounts which have been compromised to a URL of your choice (and suspend them, if you choose).

A maximum number of logins can be set according to your preferences, while the default value is set to 2 hours. In case the limitations tend to exceed, the user is assumed to be offering other users the login details. For example, you can limit users to four logins over a two-hour period.

Leech Protection is the great feature for consumers, provided in cPanel which allows you to restrict log-ins you want to allow each user within a particular (generally 2 hour) period. Leeching takes place when multiple users try to submit their username and password multiple times, allowing other visitors to use the log-in information.

Please follow the below procedure to set a Leech protection in cPanel:

[1]  Login to your cpanel provided by Silicon House

[2]  Go to “security section”
[3]  Click on leech Protection

[4]  Browse and Click the folder which you want to set protection

[5]  Give the number of times you intend to allow a user to login during a window period of 2 hours (A value of 4 recommended)

[6]  Give the URL to Redirect Leech Users(You must choose a URL outside of the leech-protected area)

[7]  Enable Send Email Alert To checkbox (The system will send an email to this address when leech protection redirects users from the site)

[8]  Disable Compromised Accounts (cPanel will disable the passwords of users who trigger leech protection, suspending them)

Done! Here you can use the Leech protection for your sites and restrict the login users.
