cPanel introduced in-browser terminal application in WHM version 72 which provides direct command-line access. The access to the terminal is based on the users which users we have given SSH access. As we are accessing the terminal from the WHM , we can able to login as a root user or cPanel user. It can be much faster to complete some tasks using a Terminal than with graphical applications and menus.

There is no need to install any third party software like PUTTY to connect your hosting via SSH. Instead of, you can use Terminal – a command line emulation program

Before you start, make sure SSH access is enabled for your hosting account.

Kindly refer the below procedure to access the Terminal

1. Login your WHM as a root
2. Click Terminal under Server Configuration
3. If you are accessing the terminal for the first time, a screen will appear with a warning message. Please click on the button “Proceed”.
4. This interface provides command line access to the server’s “root” account. You can now manage the server using CLI from the WHM.

Note : Misuse of command line tools can destroy data or even render your server unusable.
