How do I add CNAME Record in Linux Reseller Hosting ?

Linux Reseller Hosting comes with free cPanel/whm. CNAME records can be used to alias one name to another. The CNAME record maps a name to another name.

CNAME stands for Canonical Name. CNAME record is used to alias one domain name to another name.  It should only be used when there are no other records on that name.

Use a CNAME record if you want to alias a name to another name, and you don’t need other records (such as MX records for emails) for the same name.

Kindly follow the below procedure to update the CNAME record in reseller hosting WHM.

1) Login to your WHM
2) Under DNS Functions link, click on Edit DNS zone
3) Choose the DNS Zone to edit
4) Click on Edit button
5) Add the new records under “Add New Entries Below this Line”
6) Update your CNAME

For eg: domain.com –> CNAME —> mail.domain.com

7) Click on Save button

Hence you have added CNAME records for a particular domain in reseller hosting WHM interface.
