How do i set Skeleton Directory in cPanel?

Silicon House provides very cheap reseller web hosting plan with the Web Host Manager (WHM) using that you can create unlimited cpanel accounts. The skeleton directory or skel, is a feature available in WHM.  Anything placed in the skeleton directory of the reseller account is automatically copied to the home directory of any new cPanel account created. The skeleton directory allows you to easily copy the same files in to every new account’s public_html when the you create the new cPanel account.

For example if, in the skeleton directory, you create a /public_html directory include an index.php file, each new cPanel account you create will have a copy of that index.php in their public_html directory.

To determine your skeleton directory path:

1.Login into the WHM.

2.In the Account Functions menu, click on the “Skeleton Directory” link.

The path to your skeleton directory will be displayed, usually something like

/root/cpanel3-skel/public_html

where “cpanel3-skel” is your  master cpanel username.

To set your skeleton directory :

1.Login into the cpanel of your master cpanel account.

2.Go to the directory “/home/cpanel3-skel/public_html”

3.Place the appropriate files and subdirectories that ex : index.php. So that the index.php copy will  create automatically. When a cpanel account is created if you want custom default files to be created automatically, you may use skeleton directory option in your WHM. Skeleton directory is only useful when you want to put files in client’s websites.
